About

Lunavada State, also known as Lunawada State, was a princely state in India during the time of the British Raj. Its last ruler acceded to the Union of India on 10 June 1948.
According to tradition the predecessor state was established in 1225 by descendants of Sidhraj, Raja of Anhilwara Patan, as the state of Virpur. In 1434, Rana Bhimsinghji moved the capital to Lunavada on the other side of the Mahi river. Before the town was established, the area was controlled by the princely Sant State.

Trivedi Mewada Brahmin ,Migrated from Mewad, Rajasthan during time of Great King Rana pratap to Gujarat some 434 years ago. i.e 1576 to 1590 (Since battle of Haldighati was happened during June, 1576). But prior to that only as a precautionary steps King Ranasinh Pratap has requested Brahmin Community to migrate to safe place (being Akbar was Muslim emperor and may take wrong steps on Brahmin Community, since Brahmin were doing all Prayers for GOD in those days). But King Ranasinh Pratap requested that you should be continue worshiping Eklanji Mahadev only. Which is still continued by all Mewada Brahaman Community.
CHHEWADO NE SUNVALO MEWADO: Brahmins came from Mewad to Gujarat at last, so this proverb became very popular. Same way, they had fought with Moguls and supported Rajputs for their motherland. They have sacrified their life and property, so Mewada Brahmin's particular quality of the sentimentally developed the feelings of sacrifice, and since they have plain and crystallic thought and life, they were told as "MEWADO SUNVALO".
